French Enamelware Coffee Pot ~ C. 1930s

Product Information

Charming antique/vintage French enamelware coffee biggin (circa 1930s) with seamed body and goose neck spout, in white with gold bands. Biggins are a three or four piece coffee pot, invented by George Biggin in the 18th century. The earliest biggins had a handle on the filter part, like this one. Later the filter section was made without a handle. It is rare to find all the pieces as we have here. Usual dings to enamelware due to age and use. No holes or rusting. Fabulous piece for the French enamelware collector! Measures 12.5 inches tall; the coffee pot has a diameter of 5.5 inches. This biggin is made up of 4 pieces ~ pot with handle, filter with handle, filter cover, and lid. Will be shipped within the USA via FedEx, $15.
